Narrative History of the 1940s

The 1940 National Convention authorized a new recognition button to be created. (this is what we now know as the service pin)

On June 28, 1943 David E. Bue of Xi Chapter at Iowa State University became the 10,000th Brother of Alpha Phi Omega.

On May 23, 1948 Eugene A. Williamson of Eta Chapter at Northern Illinois University became the 20,000th Brother of Alpha Phi Omega.
