Jello

The Electric Jello Recipe from Kappa Chapter’s Morals and Ethics Commitee - developed and tested by Fred Trudwig, Tom Strong and Matt Andrews
  • 1 3/4 cup boiling water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 package (box) flavored Jello (preferred flavors are Cherry, Lime, not Black Cherry. Orange is possible but untested.)
  • 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox’s)
  • 1 cup grain alcohol
You will need a pan about 6" by 6" by 1-2" deep
Observe the Grain cautions! You will have alcohol vapors all over the place, don't try to do this over a gas stove.
Dissolve flavored Jello, unflavored gelatin, and sugar in boiling water in a large bowl. Once all of the solids are dissolved add the grain alcohol and stir quickly. (be careful not to inhale the vapors) Pour the resulting misture into a square pan and cover it with plastic wrap. Place in the freezer for a few minutes to quickly cool, then move to the refrigerator to allow it to set.
Be careful when consuming, if the alcohol does not evaporate it should be around 35% alcohol or 70 proof.
